Has anyone played with KNX? I’m not sure how popular it is outside Europe but it seems like the most reliable solution for home automation (given you can install wires in the whole house/apartment) and a lot of the big brands (eg. Siemens, Schneider) offer KNX devices.
I will be changing all the wiring so this presented me with the opportunity to look into wired home automation systems. My plan now is to install the wires for now and then add devices to the network as soon as I have the money for them as they can get a bit expensive. For visualisation and control I plan on using Home Assistant since I’m familiar with it and then I can also integrate wireless systems such as zigbee.
